I designed and fabricated this stretcher to install in the new ambulance exhibit. It resembles the stretches you might find in a real ambulance, while being well suited for our high traffic museum environment. The area beneath the stretcher is entirely blocked in, which prevents loose props and dust from collecting beneath. I created detailing that resembles the scissor lift mechanism of a real stretcher using HDPE applique pieces. This material will withstand wear and tear, is easy to clean, and does not require touch up painting. I am working with a local upholstery shop to fabricate the cushion.
